Eugene, Oregon

Pet care across Eugene's neighborhoods.

My twenty-minute drive from Veneta lands me in Eugene most weekdays. Most of my standing walks and weekly drop-ins are here.

Eugene is where I worked at Greenhill Humane Society, where I did my Fear Free training, where I met most of my long-time clients. I know the neighborhoods — and which ones are worth walking which dog through.

Neighborhoods I serve

  • Whiteaker — small streets, big personality, lots of small dogs
  • Friendly & Jefferson — quiet, leafy, great for senior pups
  • South Hills — Hendricks Park, Spencer Butte trailheads, more elevation than most
  • College Hill & Crest Drive — student-adjacent but mellow off the main streets
  • Cal Young — wide sidewalks, family neighborhoods
  • River Road & Santa Clara — north of the river, often forgotten by Eugene-only walkers
  • Bethel — diverse, working, often underserved by pet care
  • Downtown / Park Blocks — busy, but doable for confident dogs

Eugene parks I walk in

  • Hendricks Park — shaded, hilly, gorgeous in spring (rhodies)
  • Alton Baker Park & Pre's Trail — flat, long, by the river
  • Amazon Park — paved loops, good for senior dogs and reactive ones (lots of space to make distance)
  • Skinner Butte — short walks with a view
  • Ridgeline Trail — for confident dogs, longer adventures

Note: dog parks (Amazon off-leash, Alton off-leash) aren't part of my standard walks. If you want your dog at one, I can take them — but only when we've cleared it together and your dog is genuinely comfortable in those environments.

What Eugene clients usually book

House sitting for travel — lots of professionals here who fly out for conferences or research. Standing weekly walks for working folks whose dogs need a midday break while they're at Sacred Heart, the U, or downtown. Drop-in cat care when people are out for a long weekend.

Reactive and anxious dogs in Eugene

Eugene has a lot of dogs and a lot of triggers — bikes, longboards, off-leash dogs in places they shouldn't be off-leash. If your dog is reactive, we'll plan walks around quieter routes and lower-traffic times. More on reactive dog care.

Drive time from Veneta

About twenty minutes door to door, off-peak. I plan my schedule around it — Eugene visits cluster, so I'm not zigzagging the county. If you're a current client and you've referred a friend who's also in Eugene, we can sometimes back-to-back the visits.
